ONE: On a Personal Note
Hard Stuff
Worrisome Memory
“Aging ain’t for sissies,” they say. As I approach 79, my memory occasionally keeps me guessing. After panicking over six book orders I was sure I hadn’t shipped, I rushed to make amends—apology letters, bonus books, the whole works including lining up at the post office to mail them. Only later did I discover I’d already shipped them weeks earlier.
I wonder if I will hear from the lucky recipients.
Mind your mind, m’ dear… while you have one!

According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 52% of Canadians experience anxiety, depression, or isolation during the holiday season (CMHA, 2023). . . CLICK HERE
More than any other time of year, at Christmas we add to our holiday To Do list. I have heard that during the holiday season, many women add an extra 60 activities to their regular To Do list. Hard to believe, eh? Many of these items are I should do’s — a sure way to add distress to body, mind, and soul.

“What I loved most is how approachable it is—Patricia takes complex ideas like Polyvagal Theory and makes them easy to understand and apply. The exercises are gentle yet effective, and the tone throughout is kind, encouraging, and never preachy.
If you’re feeling stressed, low, or just out of balance, this book is a beautiful reminder that healing is possible—and that you don’t have to do it alone. I’ll be coming back to this one again and again. Highly recommend!” Kinka B
