Hard Stuff
Ideas come easily to me; exciting-to-me, creative, problem solving, sometimes happy-making ideas. Letting go is hard. I was soooooo eager to start a healing group based on my Return to Center book, using my years of group facilitation.
So, I felt disappointment at the minimal response. At the point I was about to suck my thumb, I recalled my dear mom saying, “Oh, well, it wasn’t meant to be.” So I contacted the three interested people to deliver a No Go message. Maybe another time.
What have you found hard to go of recently? ❤️🐞

Les & Patricia at Readers Garden Cafe on their 56th wedding anniversary
I’m a lucky gal to be married for 56 years to a soft, logical, supportive, and cat-loving guy. Recently my about-to-be-married friend, Linh Huynh asked me to share 4 pieces of marriage trivia. Here are the results:
Funny one line: For 56 years Les and I have been happily married . . . most days.
Anecdote: We were age 17, just newly kissing and he took me canoeing. I missed seeing his sweet face, so stood up to turn around and tipped us into the lake.
Interesting Fact: Les was in university at age 16 while I failed grade 7 and dropped out of high school.
Humorous moment: Five years into the marriage he said to me, “F#ck you!” and I cried my head off. About 5 years later he said it again. This time I asked, “Ah, honey, when?”
If you are in a relationship as a partner, parent, adult child or friend, what could you write for these 4 topics?
Here’s to your continued resilience!

Healing childhood trauma is a worthy and transformative endeavour. As the trauma expert and author of The Body Keeps the Score, Bessel vander Kolk wrote:
“The challenge of recovery is to reestablish ownership of your body and your mind—of yourself. This means feeling free to know what you know and to feel what you feel without becoming overwhelmed, enraged, ashamed, or collapsed.”
