One: On a Personal Note
Hard Stuff:
‘Cancer’ is a scary word. Our daughter-in-law died of breast cancer. Our daughter, Katie survived breast cancer. My hubby, Les has lived with prostate cancer for 12 years. Many friends and family members have had the disease touch them indirectly or personally.
My experience during and following February 27’s lumpectomy included some discomfort, a bit of pain, and soreness in the areas where the surgeon took out tissue from two lymph nodes and the lump in the breast. But . . . see below:

The Be Bold Bryndis event happened 9 days after surgery, the night before International Women’s Day. I delivered a 30-minute presentation, Wondrous Western Women. It describes, in an upbeat style, the history of Alberta women. Not only was it an honour to support Bryndis Whitson, who announced her intention to run in the next Federal election, I was amazed at the effect of a good dose of natural adrenaline. 🙂
